OVERVIEW
Our ThymeTurf grown in a turf-like format for instant establishment with dense vegetation. The ‘Magic Carpet’ Thymus serpyllum has abundant purple/lilac flowers through summer, it's strong aromatic scent makes ThymeTurf attractive to bees, butterflies & other pollinators.
SUPPLIMENTAL INFORMATION
• ThymeTurf should be planted in full topart sun locations. It will tolerate lower light conditions.
• ThymeTurf will tolerate occasional foottraffic but, should not be planted in areas receiving regular foot traffic.
• ThymeTurf is really shines when used tovegetate joints between pavers and flagstone, it can simply be cut into narrowstrips using and utility Knife
Formats
• ThymeTurf is ‘Magic Carpet’ Thymus serpyllum grown in a 35-40mm soil-less media and a fully biodegradable coconut fibre base.
• ThymeTurf is sold in individual pieces that are 27cm x 53cm (roughly 1.5 sqft each ) and are 35-40mm thick.
• For shipping the product is stacked on a 48"x48” pallet with 160pc - roughly 240 sqft.
INSTALLATION GUIDELINES
• Soil requirements.- Thyme is not fussy about soil conditions, use existing garden soil, a loam or screened topsoil.
• Level or contour soil as desired, ensure to remove any visible weeds prior to planting.
• Lightly wet the soil and apply a balanced organic fertilizer.
• ThymeTurf can be laid in a continuous 100% coverage approach or can be installed leaving exposed topsoil around each piece. Once rooted into the soil the Magic Carpet will quickly spread to fill/ any gaps.
• Cut as needed with a utility knife.
• Ensure exposed edges are covered with soil.
• Water deeply immediately after planting and then every 2-3 days until plants have rooted into soil.
MAINTENANCE OVERVIEW
• After establishment water only occasionally throughout the growing season in times of drought.
• A deep watering in fall and then again in early spring is beneficial to plant health.
• If desired in spring apply a balanced control released fertilizer.
• Bi-weekly weeding is recommended. Broadleaf herbicides should never be used on ThymeTurf.
